Scouts BSA Camporee: Geology & Exploration Merit Badge Combo

Choose Geology or Exploration or BOTH during a fun-filled weekend of camping and hands-on workshops! Engage in a fun outdoor activity that teaches scouts about careers in the geosciences. Scouts will learn about the properties of rocks & minerals, perform various mineral tests, examine geologic maps, and explore earth history with a timeline activity. Each scout will put together their own rock & fossil collections to take home. Our newest program Exploration explores the history of speleology, cave exploration, research, and conservation. Scouts plan and carry out their own scientific expedition in the cave, performing experiments and analyzing the data afterwards. The highlight of the visit is an awesome BLACK LIGHT ADVENTURE tour of two beautiful crystal caverns. All workshops taught by registered Merit Badge Counselors and are complete at the end of the event. Primitive camping and lunches included.
