Scout BSA: Geocaching & Exploration Merit Badge Camporee

Choose Geocaching or Exploration or BOTH during a fun-filled weekend of camping and hands-on workshops! Engage in a fun outdoor activity that promotes the ideals of Leave No Trace, while learning to operate a GPS unit, set coordinates, and find waypoints. Map and compass practice too, followed by a special scout-based geocache hunt. Our newest program Exploration explores the history of speleology, cave exploration, research, and conservation. Scouts plan and carry out their own scientific expedition in the cave, performing experiments and analyzing the data afterwards. The highlight of the visit is an awesome BLACK LIGHT ADVENTURE tour of two beautiful crystal caverns. All workshops taught by registered Merit Badge Counselors and are complete at the end of the event. Primitive camping and lunches included.
