Girl Scout Juniors Geocacher Badge & Cave Explorer Patch Combo w/Junior Animal Habitats Add-On
November 16 @ 5:45 pm - November 17 @ 3:45 pm
Navigate a fun-filled weekend of caves and geocaching. The Geocacher badge program teaches girls how to use a GPS unit and find coordinates. Girls will also learn to use geo-slang, track a Travel Bug, make trade items, and then, go on a scout themed geocaching hunt. Girls also earn the Junior Cave Explorer Patch! Cave animals, caving safety, and karst topography are all topics which will enrich their knowledge about the underground world. This event includes a presentation about cave conservation, cave animals, and cavern formation. The highlight of your trip will be touring TWO beautiful crystal caverns. Included are workshops to fulfill badge/patch requirements, indoor “slumber party” style lodging, evening snack, and a lunch-time meal.
Optional: Get more out of your event by adding the Junior Animal Habitats Badge. Explore the cave habitat, learn about endangered species, and build a bat house to put up in your community
