Geology Rocks Patch

The nine hour program features four hands-on Geology workshops conducted by our experienced staff plus 'An Introduction to Speleology' pre-tour program, a special interpretive tour of the caverns, a light snack, and a rock collection for each girl.  The Geology Rocks Patch has been specifically designed to meet the requirements for a "Make Your Own Badge" program.

Going Batty Patch

Girls will fulfill the requirements for the Going Batty Patch.  This nine hour program features four interactive workshops conducted by our experienced staff plus 'An Introduction to Speleology' pre-tour program, a special interpretive tour of the caverns, a light snack, and a bat house for each troop to hang in their community.  The Going Batty Patch has been specifically designed to meet the requirements for a "Make Your Own Badge" program.

Featured Workshops Include:

  • Intro. to Mammals and Bats of the World
  • Mammal (Bats) Research
  • What Bats Eat
  • Building Bat Houses

 Directions Matter Patch

This new nine hour program features four interactive workshops conducted by our experienced staff plus 'An Introduction to Speleology' pre-tour program, a special interpretive tour of the caverns, a light snack, and letterboxing materials for each girl.  The Directions Matter has been specifically designed to meet the requirements for the "Make Your Badge" program.

  • How & Why of GPS
  • Geocache Hunt
  • Compasses & Mapping

Patch Combinations

Spend the weekend at Lincoln Caverns - Choose 2 Patches to complete during your stay.  Enjoy a Saturday evening flashlight tour of the two beautiful crystal caverns, Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks.

Patch Events for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors

These Patch Events cater to small troops, so they can participate in a patch program with no minimum fees required. Lincoln Caverns will offer opportunities for troops to register directly with Lincoln Caverns and participate in the patch programs offered during their visit.

Friday evening indoor lodging is available to participants of the Saturday program which runs from 8:45 AM - 3:30PM. A special evening Introduction to Speleology program will be presented to participants in either badge program, followed by a unique flashlight tour of Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks (6:00 PM - 8:30 PM Saturday evening). The Sunday morning program begins at 8:45 AM and finishes at 3:45 PM. Indoor lodging on Saturday night will be available for participants in the Sunday programs.

  • Saturday, October 29 - Sunday, October 30, 2016 - Ghosts & Goblins Party with the Directions Matter Patch
  • Friday, November 18 - Sunday, November 20, 2016 - Directions Matter Patch & Geology Rocks Patch Combo
  • Friday, February 24 - Sunday, February 26, 2017 - Going Batty Patch & Geology Rocks Patch Combo
  • Friday, March 24 - Sunday, March 26, 2017 - Directions Matter Patch & Geology Rocks Patch Combo


Pre-registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come/first-serve basis. Receive information packet by signing up in our Scout Leader Area  Registration/Deposit Payment is now available online by clicking on the event of your choice in our Events Calendar

 Overnight Options

Bring your sleeping bags and spend the night in heated/air-conditioned comfort upstairs in our learning center. There is room to sleep up to 60 people. Restroom facilities are located in our Visitors' Center wing and refrigeration is available. Coffee maker and TV with VCR on site. Indoor lodging available for one night only: the night prior to or the night during your program.

OR

March thru November:

Enjoy primitive camping in our new group campground atop Warrior Ridge. Private, level sites in wooded areas adjoining a large field for group activities. At each group site porta-johns, fire rings, picnic tables, water for putting out fires, and trash barrels are provided. Drinking water must be carried from the Visitors Center. Firewood and ice is available for a small fee. Easy access from Route 22 via a gravel road. Stay as long as you like: primitive camping nights unlimited.

Overnight programs include special flashlight tours of the caverns!

A two-day option with lodging elsewhere is also available.
