Go Batty over rocks & fossils!

Go Batty with us this spring, learning about geology and bats at the same time. Meet the requirements to earn a badge and a patch - Junior Geologist & Going Batty (courtesy of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois). During your fun-filled visit perform rock tests, go on a fossil hunt, and test soil. Learn about the importance of bats in ecosystems where they live. Play a game, create a poster, and make a craft that will help remind scouts and others, to be good neighbors to bats everywhere. Each troop will build a bat house to put up in their community. This event includes a presentation about cave conservation, cave animals, and cavern formation. The highlight of your trip will be touring TWO beautiful crystal caverns. Sleeping accommodations are slumber party style in the visitor's center. Pre-registration is required and payment in full is due with registration.
