Girl Scout Junior Combo - Going Batty & Earth Connections Badges

Forever Green Weekend!

Learn about the importance of bats in ecosystems where they live. Play a game, create a poster, and make a craft that will help remind scouts and others, to be good neighbors to bats everywhere. Each troop will build a bat house to put up in their community. The Going Batty badge is courtesy of Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois. Fultill the requirements for the Earth Connections badge by creating a food web, making a cave craft, and performing experiments to learn more about the cave environment and how it connects to the surface world. This event includes a presentation about cave conservation, cave animals, and cavern formation. The highlight of your trip will be touring TWO beautiful crystal caverns. Sleeping accommodations are slumber party style in the visitor's center. Pre-registration is required and payment in full is due with registration.
