Boy Scout Geocaching & Mammal Study Camporee

Join boys from PA and surrounding states to earn one or two merit badges and enjoy great camping.

Boy Scout Geocaching & Mammal Study Camporee

Saturday, work toward earning the Mammal Study Merit Badge.  Discuss the importance of bats in the mammal world and to the ecosystems they live in, learn about bat families and species, and each troop builds a bat house to put up in their community.  Saturday evening, engage in a pre-tour presentation about cave conservation, cave formation, and cave life.  Then descend into the cave for an evening flashlight tour, through two beautiful crystal caverns.  On Sunday, rotate your thinking towards geocaching - boys will engage in activities to learn the use of a GPS unit, learn the importance of compass skills when geocaching, and head outside on their own geocache hunt. One day/one night options available.

Pre-registration is required.  Deposit accepted at the time of registration, with balance due two weeks prior to the event date.  For more information about this event and other scout programs, please visit our Scout Leader Area.
