Geology Belt Loop/Pin

Two new programs for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears have been introduced here at Lincoln Caverns. These 5 1/4 hour programs allow boys to complete their Geology Belt Loop/Pin. A pre-tour program 'An Introduction to Speleology' and a guided interpretive tour of the caves is included in both programs. Geology I is recommended for Tigers and Wolves. Geology II is recommended for Wolves & Bears.

Maps & Compass Belt/Loop Program

A new program for all ages of Cub Scouts have been introduced here at Lincoln Caverns. This 5 1/4 hour programs allow boys to complete their Maps & Compass Belt Loop/Pin. A pre-tour program 'An Introduction to Speleology' and a guided interpretive tour of the caves is included in this program.

Junior Cave Explorer Patch Program

Lincoln Caverns presents an all new educational and fun-filled adventure just for Brownies, Cub Scouts & Youth Groups through age 12. The 5 1/2 hour program features two hands-on cave workshops conducted by experienced staff specially trained to work with young children plus 'An Introduction to Speleology' pre-tour program, a special interpretive tour of the caverns, and a 'Lincoln Caverns Junior Cave Explorer' patch upon completion

  • Junior Cave Explorer Workshop, featuring the Kids Cave Krawl simulated caving adventure!
  • Cave Life Workshop
  • World of Bats (with Combo only)

Geocaching Program

Scouts will find the thrill of adventure and learning through technology. Boys will learn how to use GPS units in the fun sports of geocaching and earthcaching. This six hour program includes fun 'treasure' hunting activities for participants.

*NEW* Cub Scout Combo Two Day Program

For Cub Packs with a zeal for learning, there is a combination of the Junior Cave Explorer Patch Program plus one of the four programs we offer at the Cub Scout level. This program will include five 45 minute workshops (6 for Webelos Geologist). Introduction to Speleology pre-tour program and Cavern Tour, plus time for lunch and gift shop breaks.

Bring your sleeping bags and spend the night in heated/air-conditioned comfort upstairs in our learning center. There is room to sleep up to 60 people. Restroom facilities are located in our Visitors' Center wing and refrigeration is available. Coffee maker and TV with VCR on site. Indoor lodging available for one night only: during your program.

OR

March thru November: Enjoy primitive camping in our new group campground atop Warrior Ridge. Private, level sites in wooded areas adjoining a large field for group activities. At each group site porta-johns, fire rings, picnic tables, water for putting out fires, and trash barrels are provided. Drinking water must be carried from the Visitors Center. Firewood and ice is available for a small fee. Easy access from Route 22 via a gravel road. Stay as long as you like: primitive camping nights unlimited.

A two-day option with lodging elsewhere is also available.

Belt Loop & Pin Event Dates

Newly scheduled at Lincoln Caverns are event dates for Bears and Wolves to earn their Geology or Maps & Compass Belt Loop and Pin. Come join other small dens from across Pennsylvania for a fun filled day of learning. Participation is limited to Cub Scouts and their leaders and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call today for a registration form!
